Image Editing Software: To Make Your Pictures More Appealing
Friday, July 30th, 2010Digital Photo Editing – Resolution Explained
Wednesday, July 28th, 2010Have you edited a photograph on your computer and when you went to print it, it was just a tiny image on the page? Ever wondered why your mother’s e-mail inbox rejects the photos of your kids ?
If you are just getting started with digital scrapbooking, then this short lesson is for you. It is simpler than you might think.
Digital Resolution
The tiny dots that make up an image are called pixels. The word “pixel” is a contraction of the words “picture” (or “pix”) and “element” and generally is the smallest part of any type of digitally represented image. People are easily confused because the word pixel assumes subtle differences in meaning depending on the context in which it is used such as in printed images or the megapixels in a digital camera.
To simplify this discussion, just think of a pixel as a tiny point of light or color representing a very small component of a much larger image.
People also talk about resolution when referring to pixels. Resolution is a measurement of how many pixels fit into a certain defined space. You may have heard of “dots per inch” (DPI) or “pixels per inch” (PPI) and the meaning of these two terms adds to the confusion because once again it depends on the context in which the term is used.
Let’s simplify once again by saying that image resolution is an expression of how much detail an image holds.
Our TVs, computer monitors, cell phones, and even digital cameras are full of pixels – thousands and thousands of them all crammed together so closely it tricks the human brain into thinking these tiny dots are a smooth image. These digital images appear just about anywhere we look in our technology filled world, from our PDAs to our car dashboard to the giant electronic billboards on display along the highway or in New York’s Times Square.
The more pixels in an image, the better the image looks. On the contrary, if the pixel count is too low, the image quality suffers. So you may be able to distinguish the individual dots in a microwave display but a printed digital photo looks as smooth as glass. A pixelated image results when the pixel count is so low, you can see the jaggy edges.
Digital cameras have made sharing photos easier than ever. No longer do you have to get film developed and multiple copies printed. Today, many people share their photos through email and social network sites. However, before doing this the image taken from the digital camera is usually downsized.
Digital cameras are built to duplicate film camera quality and therefore capture images with a huge pixel resolution. Compare that to nearly all home computer displays that have a low pixel count, generally under 100 pixels in an inch. Displaying high resolution images on a low resolution device results in an image that appears much bigger than the computer screen. Digital cameras catch images at high resolution to make possible photographic quality prints. But sending this large image file by e-mail will take megabytes of data and many e-mail users will reject it.
Digital Photo Editing
The solution is to resample the image which is geek speak for changing the resolution. Decreasing the number of pixels will make the image appear normal on a computer monitor. And this will let you e-mail Mom with the latest family photos from your latest vacation. But after resampling the image, don’t think that you will still get a quality print any longer since you’ve taken out so many pixels.
The guiding principle now seems simple. Images intended for printing need to be at a high resolution but images displayed on a computer screen need only a low resolution.
If you plan to do both, make a copy of your original digital image for playing around with. Besides allowing for both printing and viewing images correctly, this is also a suggested backup plan for all of your digital images.
Now you are ready to take lots of digital photographs and be able to print and share them without further problems.

Image Editing is Supportive For Providing The Optimization of Your Images.
Tuesday, July 27th, 2010Image editing services will be very supportive for providing the necessary optimization of your images. A huge image takes a lot of space in the reminiscence of your pc. If you want to move the image it is yet again a bit intricate due to the huge size of the image. The traffic is pretentious as the huge image will entail a larger bandwidth and hence be time consuming. Image editing services will slice the bigger images will optimize your images and help preserve the required equilibrium between volume and speed.
If the volume of the image is diminutive it will take less space of the memory and hence in the equivalent space which was earlier acquired by a single file can now be disseminated among the other files. The smaller file will take a smaller amount of bandwidth while the transfer of the file takes place and thus dipping the traffic. Image editing services slicing of the image will permit you to generate the rollovers within the larger image. As it involves substitution of the images rollover is not probable with the larger images.
The pictures take us down the memory lane and always make sure a big smile on our face at whatever time we have a quick look of it and admire our near and dear ones in the picture or at times even our personality. Time is an imperative factor and photographs tend to achromatize and neutralize with the transitory of time. Image editing services is used to augment the digital photography and the picture perpetually comes out looking enhanced yet totally diverse.

Is Adobe Photoshop Undisputedly Number One Program For Image Editing in The Industry?
Saturday, November 14th, 2009Photoshop is an Adobe Systems Product. Now days Adobe Systems is one of the biggest software development companies in the world. This company provides all multimedia application for all community designers. Graphic designers are using its Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, and Freehand etc. Web designers are using its Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Sound Booth, and Fireworks etc. Post-production artists are using Photoshop, Premiere, Sound Booth, and After Effects etc.
All above explanation is showing that photoshop belongs to the biggest technologies owning community. Now, I am going to tell you about why Photoshop is necessary for each and every designer of graphic designing, web designing, animation, photography and video editing industry. Photoshop has strong ties with other Adobe software for media editing, animation, and authoring. The .PSD (Photoshop Document), Photoshop’s native format, stores an image with support for most imaging options available in Photoshop.
In 1987, Thomas Knoll, a PhD student at the University of Michigan, began writing a program on his Macintosh Plus to display grayscale images on a monochrome display. This program, called Display, caught the attention of his brother John Knoll, an Industrial Light & Magic employee, who recommended Thomas turn it into a full-fledged image editing program. Thomas took a six month break from his studies in 1988 to collaborate with his brother on the program, which had been renamed ImagePro. Later that year, Thomas renamed his program Photoshop and worked out a short-term deal with scanner manufacturer Barneyscan to distribute copies of the program with a slide scanner; a “total of about 200 copies of Photoshop were shipped” this way.
During this time, John traveled to Silicon Valley and gave a demonstration of the program to engineers at Apple Computer Inc. and Russell Brown, art director at Adobe. Both showings were successful, and Adobe decided to purchase the license to distribute in September 1988. While John worked on plug-ins in California, Thomas remained in Ann Arbor writing program code. Photoshop 1.0 was released in 1990 for Macintosh exclusively, and now the latest released version of Photoshop is cs4.
It was just introduction and a little bit history of the Photoshop. This software is able to provide all solutions related to image editing, digital painting, textures/pattern designing, special effects, lay outing and any type of bitmap or raster graphics editing. Do you want to learn this program, then their are so many professional institutions just go and enquire about the course.
