This is a rare 10 min film that was sent to customers of LandRover in 1999 for the lanuch of the Discovery 2 4×4. It also inlcudes exclusive film of the “New Discovery Trek”, a 18900 mile, round the world test drive.

Hi, 1st u ave 2 accept that any 4×4 has more bits than a normal car. So you will have to mainten drive and any other off road tool. The TD5 engine is ace. I have never had a issue with this engine. KKeep her serviced and she will run good for you. The same is for everythign on the the Disco. If you buy one check that it has been service in the early days, at least 3-5 years by a land rover dealer. A land rover dealer will have actioned any warranty issues from the factory.
i am getting a 99 disco 2 for my 1st car. are they really good as this video shows? i need the truth because i have heard they are maintenance nightmares, they are always in the repair shop and i really cant have that
My Disco 2 Rocks! 144000 miles and it still runs like a champ! Off road adventures aplenty. Would like a lower gear ratio though for in city driving though.
Respect your Landy nd she’ll respect you. If you took good care of it and made sure she was running sweet you would have no problems.
I have a Discovery 2 51 Plate and cos I take care of it runs brilliantly….
Unlike the disposable Jeeps which give up the ghost a few years down the line….
I take it you got it used and it was not taken care of very well before you got it. Ive got 125K miles on my 2000 D2 with nothing other than standard maintainence and a set of head gaskets. They have to be taken care of. Sounds like you need a better mechanic to fix yours. If they cant fix the basics…. Maybe they need a new occupation.
yeh we got this video when it cam out and i was only tiny but i watched it all the time cuz i just loved the landrovers and the music and the adventure. we couldnt afford one then but now we have a TD5, though i doubt anyone cares. Its a shame i lost the video i would still happily watch it.

After my 1st off-road weekend with my Disco, I love this car!!!! Incredible car! At the end of the day I stood 3 hours in the car wash service:)))

I just bought a Disco 2 and it is like riding on air, because it does! Tappets a little noisy?? on the V8, but it is ACE.

My mum bought a Discovery when they first came out and now i’ve got one as my car, I can’t see how I ever did without it.
