Charlie Brooker just says what so many of the rest of us are thinking. That’s why he’s so brilliant. And it speaks volumes as to why most of the rest of the media are just shit.
Now whenever some big story comes out even the BBC will devote at least 48 hours to the story, without divulging very muchinformation at all. Last week, aliens could have stolen the moon, and we’d still have endless drivel about Michael Jackson’s death.

The media are so predatory they care more about the story then the actual people,
But then again as the saying goes.
“The media likes to think that the most important aspect of the story is that their there”
I try to catch Screenwipe whenever I can, Brooker just nails it every bloody time. The last edition I watched he did a spot exploring the idea that the news media is being replaced by biased, PR companies who slant the news in one favourable direction, and it really made me think. Given how the BBC is covering the Binyam Mohammed “torture” case right now without even bothering to cover the charges he faces, and without even challenging him on his story, I’m starting to think he was right.
He does make a point with it. The whole McCann media coverage just shows what happens when news reporters are reduced to clutching at straws for a big news story, when there really isn’t one.

I am a professional reporter and must say this is a perfect portrayl of everything that’s wrong with news today. It’s very sad.
